Tense is the form of a verb which represents the time it takes for something to happen. It is of three types: "Past, present and future". Past refers something that already happened, present refers to thing that is happening right now and future indicates to the things that are yet to happen.
The above given sentence is changed into past tense by changing the verb into past form.
